If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!

Irish Toasts
*********

There are many good reasons for drinking,
One has just entered my head,
If a man doesn't drink when he's living,
How the hell can he drink when he's dead?

Ode to Beer
Of all my favourite things to do,
The utmost is to have a brew.
My love grows for my foamy friend,
with each thirst-quenching elbow bend.
Beer's so frosty, smooth, and cold
It's paradise Pure liquid gold
Yes beer means many things to me
that's all for now cus I gotta Pee

I drink to your health when I'm with you,
I drink to your health when I'm alone,
I drink to your health so often,
I'm starting to worry about my own

Hover over the Duke on the left
and flip his lid just for fun. Try and
catch it in the air if you have a fast mouse.

May you live to be a hundred years, with one extra year to repent.

St-Patricks-Day.com provides global information on Ireland and all things Irish. "Especially about St Patricks Day. Anything you want to know about it, it is here. 'tis a fact folks. St. Pat's Day is Mar. 17th."
Saint David and Saint David's Day: If you were lucky enough to be in Wales on March the first, you would find the country in a festive mood. Every self-respecting man, woman and child would be celebrating St. David's Day in one way or another. But who was St. David, and why is he so important to the Welsh? And just how is St. David's Day celebrated in Wales today? "Visit this page and discover the answer to these burning questions. BTW, March 1 is St David's Day."
PALM SUNDAY: The week we now call Holy Week, started with Palm Sunday. Why was this week so important that three of the gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) devote a full third of their contents to reporting this week, and The Fourth (John) dedicates its entire last half? "Just a page of text folks, but very interesting read- by Bill Petro, your friendly neighbourhood historian. Palm Sunday is Mar. 24th"
Easter Seals creates solutions that change the lives of people with disabilities and their families across the country. Services include early intervention and child development; vocational training and job placement; physical medicine and rehabilitation. "This would be an appropriate time to visit the Easter Seals Organizations site and offer some help. They do a marvelous job."
Welcome to the Easter Page -- a cyberspace journey through scripture, art, music, prose and other materials which reflect on the mystery and miracle of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Choose any of the links to the left to begin your exploration. "This page is brought to you courtesy of St. John's Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Easter is Mar. 31st."
Easter Island has long been the subject of curiosity and speculation. How and why did its inhabitants carve and transport the massive statues which surround the island? What remains of this culture today, and what lessons can we learn from their legacy? This page is a resource for information on the Internet about Easter Island, also known as 'Rapa Nui' and 'Isla de Pascua'. "What does this site have to do with Easter? Nothing. But block-heads will certainly enjoy visiting their relatives. ;-)"
In the time of the Irish chieftains, from the first through the twelfth centuries, poets were revered as highly as the kings themselves. Each king had his own poet. With the arrival of Saint Patrick and his monks in the fifth century, the written word began to complement the oral traditions. Thanks to Patrick's lasting influence, the Irish were one of the few literate people in Europe throughout the dark Ages. "While at this St Patrick site, be sure to visit their 'Irish Toast' section. It might come in hand shortly."
Hi, my name is Ian Duckworth and I'm the head honcho (well the only honcho actually) at 'The Paperboy'. It started out in November 97 as a hobby to satisfy my own craving for easy access to quality news and has grown from there (over 10 million page views in 2000!). I hope you find it to be a useful resource. "News Junkies will find this site delightful and useful. I bookmarked it for myself and thought I would share."
Untold History: My ultimate goal with this site is to show people that most innovation in the software industry starts with small teams of extremely creative and persistent people (working for themselves not large corporations). I also have the selfish goal of wanting to learn from these people so that I might follow in their footsteps one day. To start things off, I'm proud to present the story of Flash as told by its inventor Jonathan Gay. "I like this site. Found it when someone used it to settle an argument about Flash technology history. It even made the Macromedia guy blush."
"Error 404, Enough said... just try it. Ha!"
I'm so glad you made it to Seoul House. My name is AJ, and I wanted to make this site because I am part Korean. I have lived in the U.S. all of my life, but I am very interested in Korea's history, people, culture, language, and all else. Now, I would like to share everything I have learned with you. You will find my personal photos, stories, and more as you tour this site. I hope you enjoy your stay and come again. "As I was checking this site out, I became quite engrossed and almost forgot to keep going to meet the Duke's deadline. Loved the friendly style and the crisp, concise way the information is presented."
The St. Joan of Arc Church website, www.stjoan.com, has won several awards for design and content. We have a volunteer group of 100 people that have produced approximately 1000 pages of content in the last 2 years. The site is updated daily and contains feature stories, event reviews, streaming media as well as the standard business pages. The site averages 400 users a day viewing 2000 pages for a total of about 10,000 hits a day. It is an example of all volunteer community web-building at it's best. "This is an excellent example of the community website concept and is quite remarkable."
Afternoon, Arizona here, I have copy/pasted your Award and placed it on my site. Not sure that is the way to "Earn" the Duke Award and wanted to tell you, in case the site should need to be viewed by you for me to actually "Win" it. Your many sites are so very interesting and accomplished and they introduced me to 50+ Club, which I have just applied to join. I'm not a total newby to the computer but continue to learn and improve as best as my ancient fingers and mind allow me. Respectfully, Jack Leroy BRYSON. "Interesting site Jack, I am sure our members would enjoy a visit to your site. But be careful as there are a few 50+ editors that might put you to work once they see it.. :-)"
YouThink.Com: Sex or love? Britney or Christina? Answer important questions like these on the AmIHot site for polls. Get instant demographic results, discuss in the forums. Also trivia and movie reviews. Add your own questions for fun or market research. "Interesting use of Polls folks, you can also create a poll yourself. Lots of fun even if you're not a politician."

SPRING TIME FAVOURITES from Tunisia: For me, springtime means a visit to Tunisia, the small North African country thrusting into the Mediterranean. I go there at the government's invitation, and work with cooks throughout the land for the Tunisian cookbook I am writing. Tunisia was the breadbasket of ancient Rome, and this wheat-growing country boasts breads of great quality and variety. Succeeding waves of conquest, by Spaniards, Arabs, Turks and most recently the French, brought new foods and ways of cooking, influences now blended into the distinct and pleasing cuisine of Tunisia. "What a find! This remarkable recipe site is called CulinaryPleasures.Com. Since spring begins on March 20th I was looking for a spring recipe, but folks don't stop there check out the whole site. Marvelous, bloody marvelous."
Spring Time Walleye's : By Shane Belter: Spring walleye fishing can offer some of the years best fishing, and some of the worst. Warming weather is usually the indicator in this department. If the temperature rises just a degree or two, and stays relatively constant, the bite can really turn on. If the mercury goes south so often does the bite. "WalleyesInc.Com, action packed adventures in walleye fishing on the internet."
The Art of Shakespeare's Sonnets: Helen Vendler, widely regarded as our most accomplished interpreter of poetry, here serves as an incomparable guide to some of the best-loved poems in the English language. "The coming of Spring always reminds me of sonnets and so I did a sonnet search. The search led to this Harvard site, where I discovered a remarkable sonnet experience."
The World's Greatest Entertainer: This website is dedicated to the man who was known as The World's Greatest Entertainer, a superstar before the word was coined, and whose musical heritage created much of the entertainment industry we know today. With text, photos, music and more, here is the source to learn about Al Jolson, the master showman of American theatre, whose career spanned fifty years of American Music history. "I grew up listening to this fantastic entertainer and never missed a movie of his. Glad I found this International Al Jolson Society website. Hopefully you will be too. There is a great midi player of all his tunes, just keep clicking it and they will appear and play in random order."
Rib Mountain Carvings: Learn how to carve wooden black bear or grizzly sculptures from logs using nothing more than a chain saw and a chunk of wood by following the techniques described by experienced wood carver, Tom Vesely.
"If you are looking for an unusual house warming gift. Or are just interested in learning this new art form for your own enjoyment, Tom Vesely's chain saw sculpting site is a dandy."
"Our 50+ Friends Club site, (not the Duke's site), has grown to the point that expenses too have grown. Rather than charge a membership fee to the 50+ers, they have decided to affiliate with a few e-commerce sites. It's like selling space on a billboard only neater. Here are some of our newly affiliated e-commerce partners, as you can see 50+ers are in good company."
